Hard or rigid gas permeable lenses are made in accordance with the exact dimensions of the eye, and so are slightly less flexible. The main benefit of these lenses is that they transmit oxygen to significantly reduce the risk of infection, thus maintaining corneal health to give substantially better vision.
Scleral haptic lenses is a moulded lens to cover the whole eye surface. It is ideal for swimming, and correcting vision for keratoconous patients and similar cases of complex corneas.
